Word faces

I've set up iGoogle to give me a "Daily How To", some of which are quite interesting. One of them from last week was this one: How to draw a cartoon face from the word 'boy'. It is quite a good way to get ideas for faces. Hours of boring lectures in the last week and, well:
(jon, 84, mud, dog, bun, goop, bap, old, pope, 0.9, boy, bad, fog, cop, bob)

And finally: My friend gave me a challenge to use 'dynamic'. Couldn't manage a face, but got a sort of alien foetus:

Six Words to describe your life

Okay, so I've been crap at this blogging thing... I'm just going to jump right in and write some shit - that's got to do the trick.

The other day, could have even been just yesterday, there was a thing on Radio 4 about a company, or a competition, that was looking for people to send in six words that described their life. Here's a link to an article about it in the telegraph, which I don't read by the way:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/arts/main.jhtml?xml=/arts/2008/02/06/boleith106.xml

Well I set this as a kind of mini challenge for the writing group I go to. What was meant to be just a couple of minute exercise took up the rest of the meeting! It seems that once you start thinking of things in six words it's very hard to stop. I'm still listening to things that people say and trying to split them into groups of 3.

Here are some of the sets of 6 words I came up with for my life:

  • Met wonderful people. Hopefully meet more.

  • Done my thing. Will continue to.

  • I quite like this one:

  • Had it sorted. Then turned twenty.

and

  • Met someone wonderful. She moved on.

This one is bound to sum up someone's life:
Went on holiday. Never came back.

All these have been in 2 sets of 3. Some of the more punchy ones are in 3 sets of two, as this one by one of the other members of the group.

  • Was born. Had sex. Died happy.

Anyway, that's just preamble really. The interesting stuff came when someone suggested writing six "last words", as in the six last words you say before you die.

Here are some of my best ones:

  • I've got this really great idea!

  • Why of course I can drive!

  • I'll bet you can't do this!

  • How many biscuits can you eat?

It's fun, and you won't be able to stop thinking of them.

Signing off.
